I’ve never done this before… March 22, 2007

But here are my LOST theories and predictions:
1. Cooper/Locke’s dad is the same man who conned Sawyer’s parents (Sawyer’s Sawyer) — Kate, a con-woman, may also have some connection. Sawyer will figure it out, either just by seeing Cooper or because Locke will blurt out something about the kidney stealing (which Sawyer knows about from stories). Sawyer, not Locke, will kill Cooper, I think, or Locke will end up saving Cooper from Sawyer. And the scotch. The fact that a bottle of MaCutcheons was on the island could indicate that at least one of the “Fathers” was on the plane to begin with (or just someone with a lot of money), but where has he/they been?
2. Locke did not actually blow up the submarine. That seems far too linear for LOST. Maybe I’m wrong and I give Locke (who’s proven himself to be way angry, needy and crazy sometimes) too much credit, but I think he submerged it first and made it look like he blew it up. I mean, why else would he have been so wet coming back? Also, Ben more or less caused the anamoly that “wiped out their communication” by convincing Locke that nothing would happen if they didnt push the button. Locke seemed way too submissive when it was obvious that Ben wanted him to blow it up. “DON’T TELL ME WHAT I CAN’T DO.” I just don’t think it’s Locke’s perogative, and I don’t think he would let himself be deceived by Ben a third time. I just don’t.
ADDITION: Or I think he really did blow up the submarine, but it will eventually be an accidentally good thing. It seems like that always happens to Locke. He does crazy, self-oriented shit but gets lucky. But I think it’s important that Locke and Ben are essentially working for the same thing.. not leaving the island and not letting anyone else leave either.
3. Juliette will spend time at the LOST camp in coming episodes. She may be “the game-changer” they’re talking about. I feel like the perception of the submarine being gone will change The Others. Feeling less in control, a sense of desperation. I think there’s a lot that The Others don’t know, but they have been deceived into thinking they are fully aware of everything. They will be none to happy if/when they learn of the Swan, and the electromagnetism that only Ben seemingly had previous knowledge of. But I can’t figure out what benefit that would hold for Ben, besides people having to stay there, because I don’t think he can leave. He’s done something… “fully committed”… that makes him unable to leave the island.
And I think Tom is gay.
4. Sayid planting the Rousseau-seed in Alex will play a big part in something big. She’s already suspicious of her “father.”
5. Nikki and Paulo are suspicious-types. Paulo’s going to die, but I don’t think he will ‘really be dead’.. Nikki will have something to do with it. Or the opposite. Spiders will have to do with it. I think they might have been/are con people. they seem to have been preoccupied by something the whole time, but they really want to be included in the in-crowd now.
6. The box is a metaphor. But whatever IT is, it’s the reason why the polar bear showed up (which probably came from Walt’s subconscious as he received a stuffed polar bear from Michael when they were reunited)… the horse… people’s presumably dead relatives… and other junk like that. I think Cooper is really there, though.
I won’t lie, I didn’t like last night’s episode that much. It felt predictable. We all knew Locke was looking for the submarine and that he was going to blow it up (or seem like it), and that Jack was intending to leave the island. Well, until we found out who “the man from Tallahassee” referred to. And for some reason, I still trust Locke and that he has a larger-picture-type view of the island. A “connection” if you will.
And my head continues to explode with all of the philosophical, literary, biblical, historical references that give this show so many layers from which to draw theories and predictions. Like the Paulo situation. I’m predicting that he is the one who is going to die in the next episode… but that totally destroys my hope that he will become a major character in things like how the biblical Paul was not an original apostle, but then became one after Jesus’ death. He was a convert, formerly called “Saul” of the tribe of Benjamin, stricken blind, and all that junk. I JUST DON’T KNOW!! but I think that will be important.
And don’t even get me staaaarted on this wholy Jacob-being-”HIM” thing. Obviously the sibling and father issues run very deeply in this storyline. The Jacob, Esau, and Issac biblical story is full of sibling betrayal, familial favouritism, insecurity, father issues — similar to Jack, Sawyer, Locke, Hurley, Claire, Kate, Ecco, Desmond, and pretty much everyone else who is important thus far, probably even Ben.
